TalkMail
Terms of use
These terms cover downloading and using TalkMail, a free email program for Windows made by Doug Oliver. By installing or using TalkMail, you agree to them.
1. Using TalkMail
TalkMail is free. You may download, install and use it on as many of your own computers as you like, for personal or work use, and you may share the download link with others. Please don't sell TalkMail, pass off modified copies as the original, or remove the copyright notice. TalkMail is © 2026 Doug Oliver, all rights reserved except as these terms allow.
2. Your email accounts
TalkMail connects to email accounts that you own or are allowed to use. You are responsible for your accounts, your passwords and the mail you send. Your use of Gmail, iCloud Mail or any other email service through TalkMail is also covered by that provider's own terms, for example Google's Terms of Service and Gmail Program Policies.
Gmail and iCloud accounts sign in with an app password you make in your own Google or Apple account. TalkMail uses your mail only as described in the privacy policy, and you can take its access away at any time by deleting that app password.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use TalkMail to send spam or bulk unsolicited mail, to send malware, to harass or deceive people, to get into accounts that aren't yours, or for anything illegal. TalkMail is meant for people reading and writing their own mail.
4. Privacy
TalkMail runs on your PC and sends nothing to the developer. The TalkMail privacy policy explains exactly what it does with your information, and is part of these terms.
5. No warranty
TalkMail is a new program, made and given away free by one person. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The developer doesn't promise that TalkMail will be free of errors, will always work with your email provider or screen reader, or will never lose or change mail. Keep your important mail where your email provider keeps it, and keep backups of anything you can't afford to lose.
6. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Doug Oliver is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, mail, profits or business, arising from using or not being able to use TalkMail, even if told such damage was possible. Because TalkMail is free, the developer's total liability for any claim about TalkMail is limited to zero US dollars, or the smallest amount the law allows if that is more. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
7. Updates and changes
New versions of TalkMail are published on the TalkMail page. Features may change, and TalkMail may stop working with a provider if that provider changes how its service works (for example Google changing its sign-in rules). These terms may be updated; the new version is posted here with a new effective date, and using TalkMail after that means you accept it.
8. Stopping
You can stop using TalkMail at any time by uninstalling it and, if you like, removing its data as the privacy policy explains.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
